After impressing at the Auburndale combine, Tsonis signed for Tindastol in the 2nd tier. Following a succesful season, he earned the interest of Icelandic top flight club Fjölnir Reykjavík. Tsonis later spent two years playing in the USL with NY Red Bulls and Charleston Battery.
