David Nkansah-Siriboe has signed his first professional contract with Spartak Trnava, a historic team in Slovakia.
“After coming on trial,” said Nkansah-Siriboe, “I knew I had to prove why I was different. With the grace of God and through the hard work that I have put in, my level kept improving throughout the days.”
Spartak Trnava, also known as the Bili Aneli’s (the White Angels), also have a decorated history. They’ve won the Czechoslovak First League five times and the Czechoslovak Cup four times. They’ve made multiple appearances in the UEFA Champions League and currently play in the top tier of Slovakia’s football league – Fortuna Liga.
“David showed promise and it’s well deserved,” said Bernardo Vasconcelos, General Manager of Viza Management. “He had all the right tools but most importantly, the right mindset.”
Nkansah-Siriboe was playing at Marist when he opted towards going to Spain to play on trial. After teams showed no interest, Nkansah-Siriboe's was deemed in ineligible to return to play College Soccer. After months of training, Nkansah-Siriboe decided to sign up for SoccerViza’s Pro Scouting Tour in Los Angeles California. Throughout the event, his dominance during 1v1 opportunities was key towards making him stand out.
“Soccerviza was not only a great, stress-free platform for players to express their football ability, but it was also a great learning platform as well,” said Nkansah-Siriboe, “Joe, along with the amazing staff, constantly provided invaluable insight concerning the market and industry of the football world. I received a lot of in-match critique to improve my effectiveness during the matches. I don’t know players don’t take advantage of opportunities like this.”
