C.F. Pachuca, regarded as one of the most successful clubs in the America's, will receive Carlos Caro, a goalkeeper who attended SoccerViza’s ‘Pro Scouting Tour’ in Los Angeles, California.
“We had a great turnout at our event,” said founder and CEO, Joe Funicello. “The level was really good Carlos stood out due to his acrobatic goalkeeping skills and his distribution opened some eyes. I'm happy a team of Pachuca’s caliber can welcome him for a trial.”
Carlos Caro, a Maryland native, was a goalkeeper at Howard University. After college, he wanted to pursue a career in football at the next level.
“The goal is to get a contract, plain and simple,” said Caro. “However, I’m looking forward to the different styles of play in Mexico. Playing in the U.S. gives me a false sense of achievement. In Mexico, players play year-round -- they breathe and live football. I want to compete against that.”
How is SoccerViza Different?
“I’ve only been to one other combine and it was strictly for goalkeepers,” said Caro. “I didn’t like it very much because we didn’t play any matches. Soccerviza had all the technical stuff too but it revolved around playing matches. What took the cake, in my opinion, was the insight on the industry. The scouts were cutthroat and honest and I can respect that.”
“I think Joe is the epitome of going out and getting it, regardless of what cards you’re dealt with,” said Caro. “His story resonated with me and lit something inside of me. The industry needs more people like him to help transform the U.S. soccer landscape to something greater. I wish nothing but the best for him and his organization.”
