Anthony Ferrara, 20-year old Portuguese-American goalkeeper from Massachusetts, has been confirmed to go on trial with Vestri in the Icelandic second division this week.
Ferrara had a strong performance at SoccerViza’s opening winter transfer window combine in November, showing great reflexes, agility, and ability to play with his feet.
“I was absolutely thrilled to hear about this opportunity,” Anthony told SoccerViza.
“The years of hard work are paying off. I’m looking forward now to being in a new country, being in a new environment, and being outside of my comfort zone to prove myself at a professional level.”
Previously with the S.C. Farense Academy in Portugal, Anthony developed a great technical ability with his feet in being able to keep possession and quickly switch fields to maintain possession and start counter attacks.
“I want to thank SoccerViza for all of their help and guidance since my first combine. The entire staff has been truly exceptional and faithful in trying to get me an opportunity. I can not thank them enough.”
Ferrara will play in opening League Cup games for Vestri, against division rivals KF Aegir, and third division club IH on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
