Joining Pedro da Silva at Brabrand in August is Roberto Del Toro, the solid center midfielder who used SoccerViza’s 2015 summer transfer window combine to go into pre-season in Portugal with Torreense, and then sign a contract with Sintrense.
In joining Brabrand, Roberto will hope to shore up the middle of their park as they aim to improve on last season’s finish which saw them narrowly miss promotion to the 1st Division.
“This is a great opportunity to Roberto,” SoccerViza founder Joe Funicello commented.
“He’s always been a fantastic player who just needed the right opportunity to show the world what he can do. Portugal put him on the map, and now if he’s able to seize this opportunity in Denmark, he’ll be on his way.”
“To tell you the truth, I was a little surprised to hear that I had been requested for trial in Denmark,” Roberto commented. “I thought I didn’t really fit their style of play, but it shows how this game really is made up of very different opinions from one person to the next.”
This will be the second time that Roberto has earned an opportunity in Europe through a SoccerViza combine, which will hopefully set him up to play through the 2016/17 season with the promotion-contenders in Aarhus.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Europe. The lifestyle out there is way more relaxed, and laid back compared to here in the States. It’s going to be nice to be able to focus on football day in and day out again, and immersing myself in a new culture is always something to be excited about.”
Roberto will head to Denmark in th
