SoccerViza Updates: 2016 Schedule Posted

January 20, 2016

With the Holidays behind us, SoccerViza has confirmed locations and dates for the next four combines following January’s sold out Florida combine.

The first combine on the books for the 2016 summer transfer window will take place in Toronto, Canada from June 6-8. This will be SoccerViza’s first time in Canada, and will aim to tap into the growing Canadian free agent market that has seen a population boom with the further advancement of youth development this generation.

With the current crop of young Canadian MLS stars, including Tesho Akindele, Cyle Larin, Maxim Tissot, Russell Teibert, and potential 2016 first round draft pick Callum Irving, SoccerViza’s network of clubs have demanded a Toronto event to look at unidentified talent.

Following the Canadian combine, SoccerViza will return to Danbury, Connecticut from June 27-29, at the Danbury Sports Dome. SoccerViza’s Danbury combine always provides success stories, and is a regular feature on the calendar of events.

Getting later in 2016 and closer to the opening of the winter transfer window, SoccerViza will return during Thanksgiving week to San Diego, California, November 20-22. This past November marked the first time SoccerViza had been to California, but the success of that combine called for an immediate renewal with San Diego State University to return in 2016.

The final combine currently scheduled for 2016 will be another return to Danbury, Connecticut, December 5-7, and will focus on moving players to Iceland and Finland, as is custom for SoccerViza’s winter combine in Danbury.

More combines are likely to be added through the year for both transfer windows, and may feature SoccerViza’s first overseas trip.

This current winter transfer window for 2015/16 is shaping into the most successful one yet, as over a dozen players have been confirmed for trials or contracts abroad. It started with Sergio Buenrostro’s trial and contract with Queretaro II, and has also seen Gabriel Wirz on trial in Finland, Thomas Hunter and Abiola Jimoh in the Philippines, Brodie Steigerwald and James Pucci signing contracts in Europe, and 10 more to be announced in the coming weeks.
